Woodridge Cops Issue 44 Citations In Holiday Traffic Crackdown

Police issued more than a dozen tickets for seatbelt violations alone.

WOODRIDGE, IL --- Woodridge police were out in full force during the holiday season as part of the seasonal Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over and Click It or Ticket patrol campaigns. In total, 44 citations were issued during the campaign, which lasted from Dec. 17 through Jan. 2.

Of these citations, the greatest number was issued for seatbelt violations. In a press release, police said 16 seatbelt tickets were given out.

Two drivers were cited for suspended or revoked licenses and seven motorists were ticketed for driving without insurance. Police also issued five citations to drivers who were caught going over the speed limit and seven citations for unlawful use of an electronic communication device.

Seven additional citations were also issued, but additional details on the offenses were not available at press time.
