Woodridge Mother Fatally Shot In Chicago
Juliet Washington, 41, of Woodridge, was shot and killed in her car at a stoplight on Chicago's south side. She came to visit her daughter.

WOODRIDGE, IL — A Woodridge woman was shot and killed in Chicago Wednesday as she waited at a stoplight in the 5400 block of South Wabash Avenue in her SUV. Juliet Washington, 41, and her passenger, Jeanine Dowell, 31, when someone in another car began firing shots at approximately 10: 30 p.m., according to WGN News.
Washington and Dowell were both struck in the head by and succumbed to multiple gunshot wounds, the Sun-Times reports. Washington, who had worked as a mail carrier in Westmont for 17 years, had come to Chicago to prepare dinner for her daughter.
Friends, coworkers and neighbors responded online with an outpouring of grief and sympathy following the news of Juliet Washington's death. Cook County Police —along with people close to Washington and Dowell— are still trying to piece together what could have led to this tragedy.
