Woodridge Park District Offers Skateboard Camp

The camp in Woodridge will take place July 23-27.

Beginner and intermediate skateboarders are invited to attend "Go Skate" Skateboarding Camp at . 

The Woodridge skateboard camp is instructed by "Go Skate," a leading provider of skateboard lessons. 

Two camps will be offered from July 23 to 27: one for 6- to 10-year-olds and another for those 8-year-olds and up. Skateboarders will get comfortable in the skate park, as well as learn cool tricks like ollies, kick flips and how to ride the ramp.

The 6- to 10-year-old camp will run from 9 to 10:15 a.m. and cost $80 for residents and $100 for nonresidents. 

The 8-year-old and older camp will take place from 10:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. and cost $130 for residents and $150 for nonresidents.

The camp will also be offered at Lisle Park District’s Community Ramp Park, 1825 Short Street in Lisle.

Skateboarding Lessons at the Community Ramp Park are taught by the owner of Team Skateboard Inc. and are designed for both beginner and intermediate skaters.

Beginners will learn how to start, stop and drop in and intermediate riders are taught skills and tricks based on their abilities. Three summer sessions are available: Fridays, June 1 – June 22; Fridays, July 6 – July 27 and Fridays, August 3 – August 24.

Lessons for 5- to 7-year-olds run from 4 to 5 p.m. and cost $55 for residents and $83 for nonresidents. Lessons for 8- to 13-year-olds run from 5 to 7 p.m. and cost $110 for residents and $165 for nonresidents.
