Woodridge PD Gives 65 Seatbelt Citations During July 4 Watch

The arrests were part of a statewide push from the Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over and Click It or Ticket programs.

WOODRIDGE, IL — Woodridge Police have released their statistics from the recent July 4 push to get drivers to obey traffic laws and wear safety belts. Dozens of citations were issued and four arrests were made by Woodridge cops as part of the statewideDrive Sober or Get Pulled Over and Click It or Ticket campaigns.

Deputy Chief Tom Stefanson said in a press release that a total of 65 motorists were ticketed in addition to the four who were arrested for traffic violations.

More than 150 local and state law enforcement departments took part in the program, which spanned the days before, during, and after the July 4 holiday. The Illinois Department of Transportation used federal traffic and safety dollars to help fund the initiative.
