Woodridge Police Offer Parking Ticket Amnesty Program

In March, Woodridge will waive late fees for parking tickets issued before Oct. 1, 2018.

WOODRIDGE, IL -- Woodridge residents who have had old parking ticket hanging over their heads can get a temporary reprieve from late fees in March. From March 1-29, the Woodridge Police Department will waive late fees for tickets that were issued before Oct. 1, 2018.

In a statement, Police Chief Brian Cunningham urged residents to take advantage of the program. He said, "This Parking Ticket Amnesty Program is a rare occurrence for the Woodridge Police Department."

The Parking Ticket Amnesty Program comes via a partnership with Municipal Collection Services Inc. (MCSI). Residents with overdue parking tickets issued before Oct. 1, 2018 can call MCSI at 708-613-2062 to get the amount they owe without late fees and pay their tickets off.

"The program allows for people to have a clean slate, and we hope people will take advantage," Cunningham said.

Woodridge Police spokesperson Jim Hoff stressed in an email that the program only applies to late fees on tickets issued before Oct. 1, 2018 and does not allow for previously paid late fees to be refunded. Tickets that were issued via the Illinois Comptroller’s Program are also ineligible for the temporary amnesty, Hoff said.
