Woodridge Police Participate in Cop On A Rooftop At Three Dunkin' Donuts Locations

Officers from the Woodridge Police Department will take to the rooftops of Dunkin' Donuts to raise money for Illinois Special Olympians.

WOODRIDGE, IL — Woodridge Police will stake out the rooftops of three Dunkin' Donuts locations Friday as part of the annual Cop on a Rooftop event. In the past 15 years, the statewide fundraiser has raised over $3 million for Special Olympics athletes in Illinois.

Special Olympians and their families will be present with police at many of the Cop on a Rooftop locations to help raise awareness and show support for Special Olympics Illinois and the Law Enforcement Torch Run. Woodridge Police will be at the following Dunkin' Donuts locations on Friday, May 19, from 5 a.m. to 2 p.m.:

Throughout Illinois, 274 Dunkin' Donuts locations will participate in the hopes of topping last years $674,000 in donations. Customers can stop in to show their support and can make a donation to receive a gift.

Everyone who makes a donation will receive a coupon for a free donut. Donations of $10 or more receive a Law Enforcement Torch Run travel mug and a coupon for free coffee. T-shirts, raffle tickets and other items will be available for varying donation amounts at select locations.

2017 marks the first year that Cop on a Rooftop has expanded outside of Illinois, as police from Kansas, Missouri, Ohio, Kentucky and Pennsylvania join this amazing fundraising effort.
