Woodridge Police Promote Sergeant To Deputy Chief of Patrol

Ken Ostello, a Woodridge native who has worked in law enforcement, will take up the post of Deputy Chief.

WOODRIDGE, IL — The village of Woodridge now has a new Deputy Chief of Patrol. Ken Ostarello, who was the village's Community Outreach Department, will take up the post.

Ostarello, who was born and raised in the village has worked in law enforcement for more than two decades. During that time, Ostarello has served in several different positions, according to a news release.

Mayor Gina Cunningham praised Ostarello for his ongoing work with the community. She said, "In his previous position as Community Outreach Sergeant, he has proven that he understands the importance of building strong community relationships. I look forward to seeing our department grow with the addition of his leadership.”

In a statement, the new Deputy Chief said, "Being born and raised in Woodridge, it has always given me much pride to be able to say that I am a Woodridge Police Officer.”
