Woodridge Taxpayers Can Save Money

Vote Yes For The Village Clerk To Be Appointed By the Mayor With The Concurrence Of The Trustees

On April 4 Woodridge Taxpayers have the opportunity to further continue the professional implementation of the duties of the Village Clerk by voting for the Clerk to be appointed by the Mayor with the concurrence of the Trustees. Currently the day to day activities of the Clerk are managed by the Village trained and professional staff. The decision of the current Clark to retire gives Woodridge an opportunity assign the more public duties (calling roll at meetings, signing documents and administering oaths of office) to an existing professional staff member and a resulting cost savings. This wonderful opportunity would not be possible if it wasn't without the the professionalism and reorganization of the duties by Clerk Nystrom over the last decades.

Other Communities, Downers Grove, Hinsdale, Naperville and Wheaton, have already assigned the duties of an appointed Clerk to an Administration Department staff member, which in Woodridge would be assigned to the Deputy Village Clerk, who is already a certified clerk and who has been carrying out the duties of the Clerks Office for the past several years.

I would urge Woodridge residents to further professionalize the management of the Village and save taxpayer money bay voting yes to have the Village Clerk be appointed by the Mayor with the concurrrence fo th Trustees.
