2 Yorkville Private Schools Close Due To Wintry Weather
Although it's mid-March, this week's weather will start off wintry before temperatures rise by the end of the week.
YORKVILLE, IL — Sunday brought a thunderstorm and wintry weather to the Chicagoland area, leading to two Yorkville private schools closing their doors Monday.
Cross Lutheran said its school and office closed Monday due to inclement weather. Parkview Christian Academy shared the same reason.
"Out of an abundance of caution due to the impending snow storm, and taking into consideration the far distances many of our families travel, all classes are canceled tomorrow, March 16th, 2026," Parkview Christian Academy wrote on Facebook. "Stay safe, PCA families!"

Monday's forecast called for a high of 28 degrees, with windchills below zero Monday night into Tuesday, when the high will be around 26 degrees.

More snow and temperatures in the 20s are expected early this week before a big warmup, according to the National Weather Service. Temperatures will return to the 40s, 50s and even 60s through mid-week and the end of the week. A high of 47 degrees is expected for Wednesday, 59 degrees for Thursday and 67 degrees for Friday, Patch reported.
