23-Year-Old Plano Woman Dies in Yorkville Crash

YORKVILLE, IL — A 23-year-old Plano woman has died after a two-vehicle crash Tuesday afternoon in Yorkville.

Kyle Delhaye, a 20-year-old South Elgin man, was traveling northbound on Route 47 at Corneils Road when he struck the rear bumper of a vehicle driven by a 56-year-old Plano woman, causing both vehicles to exit the roadway. The vehicle had been stopped in traffic when Delhaye crashed into it, police said.

A passenger in the Plano woman’s vehicle, 23-year-old Ashley Lopez, died after being transported to Good Samaritan Hospital. She was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash. The driver and a 22-year-old Plano woman who was also in the vehicle were taken to Rush-Copley Medical Center for their injuries.

Delhaye refused transport. He was cited for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident.
