YORKVILLE, IL — The Yorkville CUSD 115 Board approved the hiring of a new director of business services, as well as the transfer of two current district employees into new building leadership positions at its Monday, July 23 Board of Education meeting.

At the district administrative level, Lisa Banovetz will serve as the new director of business services. Brett Kueker has been selected to lead Bristol Grade School as its new principal, transferring from his previous position as the assistant principal at Yorkville Intermediate School. In addition, Michael Lipinski has accepted a position as Yorkville Middle School dean. Lipinski will transfer into the position from his previous assignment as a Yorkville Middle School band teacher.

“I am incredibly pleased that District 115 is an organization that works to develop the skills of our talented employees who then choose to grow and advance within our school system,” said District 115 Superintendent Dr. Timothy Shimp. “From both inside our school system and throughout the area, we have enlisted individuals with extensive experience and innovative thinking that will be of great value in meeting the needs of our students and community.”

“I am thrilled to be invited to become a member of the Yorkville CUSD 115 family,” Banovetz said. “I am looking forward to working with the administration and community members, combining our collective experience, knowledge, and vision to continually improve services for our students. I cannot wait to get started.”

Banovetz comes to District 115 from Naperville Community School District 203, where she served as the grants manager. “Her experience applying for and managing grants at District 203, along with her previous experiences as a business owner, controller, and tax accountant, will serve our school district well,” Dr. Shimp said.

Kueker was selected as the new principal of Bristol Grade School. Kueker has served as the assistant principal at Yorkville Intermediate School since 2016 and as an elementary art teacher in neighboring School District 308. Kueker received his master’s degree in educational leadership from Concordia University and his bachelor’s degree in art education from the University of Iowa.

“I am honored and excited to join the Bristol Grade School family and I look forward to continuing and growing the great success and traditions of the school,” Kueker said. “I am eager to meet all of the incredible students and families and to start an amazing 2018-19 school year.”

Lipinski will serve as a Yorkville Middle School dean, after serving as an acting dean of students during the final months of the 2017-18 school year. He will assume the position full-time starting August 1. Lipinski previously served district students as a band teacher at Yorkville Middle School since 2010. The Board voted to hire previous District 115 band teacher Cassandra Gallagher to fill the vacancy left by Lipinski.
