Failed Liquor Law Checks At 2 Yorkville Businesses

The Yorkville Police Department conducted liquor law checks using an underage agent, 7-Eleven and Shell did not pass the test.

YORKVILLE, IL — Two Yorkville businesses failed recent liquor law compliance checks, according to police. The 7-Eleven on Sycamore Road and the Circle K Shell station on North Bridge Street were both found in violation of city liquor laws today. The Yorkville Police Department conducted liquor compliance checks Wednesday using an underage agent attempting to purchase alcohol.

Two employees violated the United City of Yorkville Liquor Ordinance during these checks, police said. The 7-Eleven and Shell employees were issued local ordinance tickets and have been ordered to appear at a an adjudication hearing.

According to the Yorkville Police Department, alcohol and tobacco compliance tests will continue to occur throughout the city in order to reduce violations.
