YORKVILLE, IL — An Aurora man will remain in jail ahead of his trial for making threats toward a public official who resides in Yorkville, police said.
Denys Machado, 49, was taken into custody without incident on Aug. 5 on a felony charge of threatening a public official.
Yorkville police's investigation into the threats found they had a "legitimate basis," warranting criminal charges, according to a news release. The threats stemmed from a civil court ruling, officials said.
Machado's pre-trial detention hearing occurred Aug. 7, when the judge ordered him to remain in custody at the Kendall County jail pending further court proceedings.
