• Yorkville Police Pension Fund paid $1.6 million to 14 retirees and survivors; taxpayers put in $1.4 million (kendallcountytimes.com) — Yorkville taxpayers are helping cover a $9.3 million shortfall in the city's police pension fund, which is only 65.1% funded despite strong investment gains. Fourteen retirees and survivors received $1.6 million in benefits last year, while property taxes contributed $1.4 million and officers paid in over $335,000, making this the worst-funded safety pension in Kendall County.
   

• Oswego East boys soccer blanks Yorkville for 10th shutout: Thursday's Record Newspapers sports roundup (shawlocal.com) — Yorkville high school teams had a mixed night, with the boys soccer squad shut out 3-0 by Oswego East even as the Foxes' girls volleyball team swept Plainfield South in straight sets. Local standouts like Sophia Blank and Ryleigh Springborn helped lift volleyball to another conference win, keeping Yorkville firmly in the SPC race.
   

• Yorkville woman charged with giving cannabis gummies to minors (wspynews.com) — A Yorkville woman has been charged after Hinckley police say she provided cannabis-infused gummies to three minors preparing for a Hinckley-Big Rock homecoming dance. She faces multiple counts of child endangerment and delivery of cannabis to a minor, has been released, and is scheduled for a November court appearance in Sycamore, with all allegations not yet proven in court.
