Edward Rehab Services expands to Woodridge, Crest Hill

Edward Hospital’s Rehabilitation Services department has opened new clinics in Woodridge and Crest Hill.  The sites offer physical, occupational and speech therapy, similar to the services provided on Edward’s Naperville and Plainfield campuses.

The Woodridge clinic is located at the Edward Health & Fitness Center at Seven Bridges, 6600 S. Route 53.  The Crest Hill clinic is located at 16151 S. Weber Rd.

Edward Rehab’s physical and occupational therapy programs focus on orthopedic problems, neurological conditions and many other physical challenges.  Speech therapy treats speech and voice disorders as well as swallowing and neurological conditions.  And, specialty programs are offered for incontinence, pelvic pain, lymphedema, pediatric physical and speech therapy, sports medicine and feeding issues in newborns.

Edward physical therapists bring extensive training for the thousands of outpatients seen annually and to the bedside for inpatients at Edward Hospital.  Most of the therapists have Master's degrees or doctorates, all have bachelor's degrees.

“All outpatients are seen by a licensed therapist, rather than aides or assistants, as is the case in some other facilities,” says Karen Granato, manager, Edward Rehabilitation Services.  “And, we try to ensure they’re seen by the same therapist throughout the course of their treatment."

The therapists' goal is to help patients resume normal activities, reduce the need for pain medication and, in some cases, provide an alternative to surgery.

Early morning and evening hours are available at all of Edward’s Rehab locations.  To make an appointment, call (630) 527-3375.  For more information, visit www.edward.org/rehab.
