Annual Yorkville Area Chamber of Commerce Rain Barrel Contest Nearing

The application process for the 2013 Yorkville Area Chamber of Commerce Rain Barrels on Parade begin this week.

Barrel sponsors will be paired with area artists to paint and decorate the barrels before they are auctioned off. The auction will be held May 4 at the spring craft fair. Prior to the auction the barrels will be on display across the city for three weeks.

Proceeds will be used to fund a scholarship for a graduating high school senior and to promote green living in the city of Yorkville.

Barrell sponsorship is $75.
