Yorkville, IL — The Yorkville Police Department is accepting applications for a police officer.

The position pays between $53,735.35 and $54,809.53 depending on the degree level you’ve obtained.

To be considered, you must be a U.S. citizen, have no felony convictions, have a valid driver’s license, be at least 21 and under 35 at the time of application, have an associate’s degree in law enforcement or criminal justice or a bachelor’s degree in any field from an accredited university or college. The education requirement is waived for applicants who have served a minimum of 24 months of active military duty or a minimum of 180 days of active combat duty.

The application deadline is 4 p.m. on Aug. 8.

Mandatory written exam testing will be held at 8 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 28. There is a non-refundable $45 application fee.

The following documents will be required at the time you submit your application:

Valid driver’s license
Birth certificate
Social security card
High school diploma or GED equivalent
Copy of official college transcript
A copy of your military service record, if applicable
