Aurora Motorcyclist Dies After Crashing into Semi

A 22-year-old Aurora man has died after his motorcycle crashed into the side of a semi around 6:35 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 11.

According to a release from the Aurora Police Department, the 22-year-old man was traveling eastbound on the 1500 block of Sequoia Dr. from Edgelawn when his path was cut off by a semi that was also traveling eastbound and was turning left into an industrial building. The motorcyclist hit the side of the semi and incurred massive head injuries despite wearing a helmet.

The Illinois State Police assisted in the investigation and Aurora Police Traffic Investigators are on the scene.

Sequoia between Edgelawn and Randall will be closed for the next several hours.
