Automotive Specialties Celebrates 30 Years

Automotive Specialties, owned by Rich Lucas, celebrates 30 years in business. Automotive Specialties opened its doors for business in May of 1983. Originally Rich's shop was located on Deer Street in Yorkville's Fox Industrial Park. Eventually he outgrew the space and in 1990 built the facility he now operates at 208 Wolf Street, still in the Fox Industrial Park in Yorkville. At that time he decided to expand his operation to include a full mechanical repair facility in addition to his existing auto body, frame repair and refinishing facility. "I wanted to be fully responsible for each and every job that left my shop and felt that operating a truly complete auto repair facility would accomplish this." states Lucas. "Every vehicle that leaves our shop is an advertisement of the work we do here." The auto repair industry has been through many changes during the past 30 years. "One major challenge has been to educate our existing and potential customers of their right to receive all their insurance benefits no matter which body shop they choose to repair their vehicle. Automotive Specialties has elected to better serve its customer's interests by remaining independent. No contract agreements with any major companies allow us to work for and on behalf of our customer." commented Lucas. 30 years ago entrepreneur Rich Lucas made a commitment to provide quality, trustworthy service when he opened Automotive Specialties. Automotive Specialties offers full collision repair, painting, insurance claim assistance, full mechanical diagnostics and repair, towing and is a fiberglass truck cap distributor. Rich and his staff are committed to providing exceptional service at a fair price. Rich Lucas and the staff at Automotive Specialties wish to thank all who have helped us reach this major milestone.
