Baby Deer Rescued By Yorkville Cop
The doe was found in the unfinished basement of a home.

YORKVILLE, IL — A Yorkville police officer saved the day for an anxious mama deer Wednesday after her baby wandered into the basement of a home under construction. Deputy Chief Larry Hilt said the deer was found an unfinished home near Freemont and Jackson streets.
Officer Brendan Heye was able to rescue the doe and reunite it with its mother. "He had to chase it a bit," Hilt said.
Police weren't sure exactly how the baby deer wound up in the home, which is under construction.
