Batman, Superman Blamed for Voting Delays

Crews were reportedly back in Yorkville to film scenes for “Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice” this week, and according to at least one voter, the production prevented her from casting her ballot Tuesday morning.

A woman who asked not to be named told the Beacon-News that vehicles and sheriff’s police were blocking the road on Grove Road near Route 126, and that she was told the road was closed for filming.

The voter said she was told to take an alternative route to Wheeler Road, but said she didn’t have time to make the longer trip because she had to be at her job in Yorkville by 8 a.m.

Kendall County Clerk Debbie Gillette told the paper she was told the road would be closed for only five to seven minutes at a time and that officials were made aware that voters needed to get to their polling place.

Crews were spotted Monday filming at some of the same sites used in “Man of Steel,” including a cemetery near the Kent family farm, OnLocationVacations.com reported.

The Kent farmhouse was built for ”Man of Steel” back in 2011, then torn down after production and rebuilt last year.

According to the site, filming is slated to move to Chicago later in the week.

“Batman vs. Superman” stars Henry Cavill, Ben Affleck, Amy Adams and Diane Lane.

The Chicago Tribune reported that the Whitetail Ridge Golf Club seemed to be serving as a home base for the film crew, and security was tight.

Filming is scheduled to continue through Nov. 14, the Tribune reported, and ”Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice” is due out in 2016, according to IMDb.
