Beer Cupcakes - The Recipe

I made cupcakes out of beer.

I am writing this on Sunday. The Bears are currently losing. It is depressing.

So instead of thinking about the Bears I am going to think about the delicious meal I just made for my husband and his friend Zach who comes over most Sundays to watch the Chicago Bears. It was an ALL CUPCAKE meal. You heard me. An all cupcake meal. We had cupcake lasagna, cupcake biscuits, and even cupcake beer.

(The above paragraphs are true. I started this blog TWO WEEKS ago. I fail at Patch blogging)

(Editor's note: Katie DOES NOT fail at blogging. I like her blog. Don't you? ~ Jillian.)

This week I am going to tackle the beer cupcake. Next week I will introduce you to the wonders of homemade cheddar bay biscuits. I will also link you to the lasagna recipe so you can enjoy your own cupcake meal. (HERE, LASAGNA CUPCAKES! http://www.the-girl-who-ate-everything.com/2011/08/lasagna-cupcakes.html)

In the interest of full disclosure, I used a recipe for the beer cupcakes. Normally my thought process when baking happens one of two ways, I see a cool idea and use my own recipes to make my interpretation or I get a cool idea and use my own recipes to make it happen. I use recipes for everything, whether they are family recipes or I found them online, but typically I feel like the things I make on the blog I should put my own spin on or what’s the point?

This time I just followed as is. I wanted beer cupcakes and dag-nab it I was going to make them. So I will link you to the place I found them.

Also in the interest of full disclosure, I took a Benedryl before cooking today. I have a horrible cold. So I forgot to take some pictures. Sorry.

Anyway… the recipe is below. You can find the step-by-step here.

The recipe for these beauties makes 24. While excellent if being brought to a party, it is a little overkill for three people sitting around on a Sunday watching the game so I halved it. If you have any questions about halving this recipe (how the hell do you halve a ¾ cup?) check out the step-by-step.
