Get Fit With Your Friends

A growing trend in Personal Training is the Small Group Training sessions-it's a bargain, it's fun and it's personal!

Combine the personal and specific attention of a one-on-one training session with the social aspect and affordability of Group Exercise Classes and we end up with Multiple Client Training, also known as Small Group Personal Training! The bonus is that by sharing the cost of sessions with 2-5 others with similar goals there is often a 50% savings as compared to private sessions. Less intimidating, too, if you are a bit nervous about meeting with a trainer. (I am not at all intimidating, I promise-haha!)

I have been in the fitness industry for almost 27 years and have found the “Buddy System” to be one of the top factors in maintaining commitment and motivation-whatever your program may be. Who wouldn’t want to have a friend share in the misery-oh! I mean the fun of staying in shape :) And if you don’t have any friends to join you, then I will find you some :)

You and a few of your friends decide what kind of sessions you want; when you want to meet-and off you go!!! You can design your own program, maybe ½ strength training and ½ nutritional counseling. How about a little interval training with some yoga? The combinations are endless!

Meet once a week or three times a week! How about a 4 week pre holiday plan-meeting 3 times a week for the 4 weeks leading up to Thanksgiving Day! Or maybe meet once a week for 6 weeks to gear up for your first 5K race! What about meeting two times a week in January and February to get a jump start on your New Year’s Resolution!!

Ewww…..I get excited thinking about all of the options!! (Yeah, I’m sick. But I love what I do!!)

In the past few years I have seen the interest in yoga-type classes increase. I think most of us have moved past the “sit there and chant yoga” stereotype. We are also realizing the importance of flexibility in our “old-er age”. I am getting more and more requests to do yoga in private sessions. Let’s face it-it can be awkward doing new things, and even more so when you are sticking your butt in the air or trying to balance on one foot to look like a tree! In my opinion, many types of exercises benefit greatly by having an expert trainer watching closely and making adjustments wherever you may need guidance.

So what are you waiting for? Grab some friends and make a plan!
