How to Stick to Your New Fitness Program

"2012 Success Series" provides the tools to achieve your New Year's goals

After writing my previous post I started thinking about what a new exerciser might need to know to actually achieve the goals he or she made on January 1st. In other words, how can I help these "newbies" continue working out in February, March and longer!

So I created a little program I'm calling "2012 Success Series". It's only 3 Wednesday mornings 9-9:30, starting next week. Week One is "Set S.M.A.R.T goals", setting reasonable-achievable-goals. Week Two is "How Fit Am I?", figuring out your fitness level helps avoid injury and burnout. Finally, Week Three is "Finding Your Inner Exerciser", discovering what you like to do-and don't like to do!-means you're more likely to stick to your health plan long term-like for the rest of your life :)

For added incentive I added a 30 minute group training session right after the series talk for a fun, quick workout. We'll do this Accelerated Training on Friday mornings, too.
