Shopping Local: Design 99

My friend, Gail recently told me about this great home decor and design store that is right next door to . I really need to find some art to put on my bare walls so I decided to go in and check them out.

Diane and her husband are the owners of Design 99 and warmly greeted me as I walked in. My eye was immedietly drawn to all the cute signs that said things like "Always Kiss me Good Night" and "Laundry, drop your drawers here". I spent some time browsing the aisles and looking at all the fun home decor.

Diane then asked if I needed help and I asked her how long they had been open in Yorkville. She said her and her husband opened the store just about a year ago and named it Design 99 because many of their items start at just .99 cents. I explained that I needed help finding art or decor to go on the huge wall behind my couch. She had me sit down with some catalogs and browse some options. She even found my paint color on a color wheel so she knew what colors to work with. 

We found some great options and I told her I wanted to bring my husband back in just so that he can see the choices also. Diane told me that she would be happy to email me photos and prices of the items I picked so I could show him at home. What a nice service, they can even order custom furniture, art, rugs and much more. 

After getting home tonight and opening my email I found the one from Diane and just as promised the info was all there. I can't wait to show my husband. Everything is very reasonable priced and I'll finally have a completed living room.
