For several weeks, I’ve been trying to decide the best gift to get one teenager on my list. With a 15 year old son, the one thing I know for sure is I’m HOPELESSLY out of touch with what anyone under the age of 25 wants. Or that’s what he keeps telling me anyway! Knowing I had to get her something that would keep me in the “cool” category, while keeping my budget in mind, I decided to go with my youngest daughter to , 791 Erica Lane, on the west end of Yorkville near Home Depot to see what options were available.
As we first walked in the door, I took a minute to check out the store. Several stations, each with large comfortable looking chairs looked particularly inviting after a busy few weeks. The dim lighting was relaxing, and just as I was starting to mentally evaluate if my checking account could handle a manicure for me too, my daughter glanced to the left, and was gone. A full wall of nail polish, in every shade imaginable, had her completely mesmerized. There was literally about two hundred bottles to choose from, and all of a sudden my daughter was very interested in why we were there. Was this store only for grown ups? Or could kids get their nails done too? And just how many colors could they use at one time?
Thankfully someone came up immediately to help me, as I could tell this line of questioning from my daughter was just going to get more intense the longer she investigated the colors of nail polish available. After looking at the options available, I found a gift certificate for a manicure was well within my price range. There are numerous options available from basic manicures for $15 to several different acrylic and gel nails, nail designs, no-chip nail polish, and more. Several different pedicures were also available, from a basic pedicure for $30 to a Nova Signature pedicure.

The gift card came in a little gift envelope, and after just a few minutes I was ready to be on my way. Trying to convince my daughter to leave took a few more minutes, but we eventually were on our way, and I took a brochure with a price list as I left. Hmmmm. A “princess” manicure for only $10? Maybe Mom and two little girls will need to share a little pampering one afternoon very soon!
