WARNING! Halloween Spoiler Ahead!
Just in case you ever wondered about the calories, fat and sugar in those snack size Halloween treats!!
I've been told by clients that I know how to ruin a holiday! I doubt I have that much power :) but if I am able to ruin someone's holiday by telling them how much fat, sugar and calories are in some of the standard holiday treats....then so be it-I think I can live with it!
Halloween is one of my favorite holidays to "ruin". And....really....sidebar here....who created a day-no! a night-where we send our children door-to-door to the "Stranger Danger" houses to fill up their trick-or-treat bags with candy from who knows where??? I'm not even going to into my thoughts on why we are celebrating "all things scary"......
OK, I'm back. ;-) Halloween, like many other major holidays, is centered around food. I am especially susceptible to the "mini-me" of something bigger. So cute :) My theory is that I can pop a mini 3 Musketeer into my mouth and never slow down....just like if I never really even ate it :) It's only a bite!! I would (probably) never eat an entire 3 Musketeer :) but you can sure bet that I'd eat four little ones-times 2!! (FYI-A full size 3 Musketeer bar is 260 calories/8 grams of fat/40 grams of sugar. The mini size is 63 calories/2 grams of fat/10 grams of sugar)

And in case you think I'm picking on the defenseless 3 Musketeer bar, I've attached a list of some of the other popular Halloween mini-treats. I found this information on an awesome website: www.fitsugar.com. It's page after page of pretty interesting fitness and health things!!
So when your kids come home from trick-or-treating and dump out a zillion pieces of candy, don't completely deprive yourself cuz you might end up being a pouty face and going crazy eating all of the treats! Definitely pick your favorite treat or two, enjoy them and be done with it. Then on November 1st balance it out with healthy eating and some fat burning exercise.

And it should go without saying...when you buy your candy to hand out to trick-or-treaters, don't buy anything that will be "calling your name" later on when you have an extra bag or two! And give away all those the extra treats-take them to the office or something!! Or here's an idea: hand out stickers or something that won't make you fat....Not the same is it???
