Yorkville Police Department

Has anyone had problems with the YPD not following up on police reports?I submitted a report on Sunday and charges were to be filed (at least that is what the officer told me).   After no response from them for two days, I had to follow up with them to find out what was going on with the charges only to be told that for "reasons" they are not pursing the charges.My safety has been violated by someone and instead of the police investigating and finding out the entire story they decided that a warning to this person was all that was needed which took them three days to do.  They also never followed up with me to allow me to respond to the other party's statement, which was inaccurate, but they took as accurate.What is going on with our police department, I thought they were here to serve and protect?Anyone have any advice for getting them to act on criminal activity?  I know we are a smaller town, but our police do not need to act like we are a small town where you just warn people.  The law is there for a reason, in my opinion.I have a call into Mayor Golinski, hopefully he will be able to shed some light or spur some action into the YPD.  Is this what my tax dollars are going to pay for - police that do nothing but receive nice salaries and benefits?Very frustrated mom.
