Bristol Kendall Fire Department Spends Time with 5th grade cancer patient from Yorkville
On Sunday, November 30, The Bristol Kendall Fire Department was honored to have a very special guest visit their station. Madi, a 5th grade cancer patient from Yorkville was scheduled to take a ride in a helicopter as one of her long time wishes. Due to the weather conditions, the helicopter was unable to attend. The men and women of the Bristol Kendall Fire Department made up for the helicopter ride by giving Madi a ride in the bucket of the ladder truck, tours of all the vehicles, and Madi was able to sign the pink fire truck of the Pink Heals Chicagoland Chapter. Madi was in attendance with her family and friends, and fun was had by all. The crew from WGN News was at the event as well. The Bristol Kendall Fire Department would also like to thank the Yorkville Police Department and Superior Ambulance for their involvement in the special day. The Bristol Kendall Fire personnel have a new friend in Madi, and support her in every step she takes to recovery.
