Bristol Kendall Fire Department Spends Time with 5th grade cancer patient from Yorkville

On November 30, the Bristol Kendall Fire Department was honored to have a very special guest visit their station. Madi, a 5th grade cancer patient from Yorkville was scheduled to take a helicopter ride as one of her long time wishes. Due to the weather conditions, the helicopter was unable to attend. The members of the Bristol Kendall Fire Department made up for the flight by giving Madi a ride in the bucket of the ladder truck, tours of all the vehicles, and Madi was able to sign the pink fire truck of the Pink Heals Chicagoland Chapter. The crew from WGN news was at the event as well, and covered the story which aired on November 30. Bristol Kendall Fire Department would also like to thank the Yorkville Police Department and Superior Ambulance for their involvement in the special day. The fire personnel have a new friend in Madi, and are devoted to standing behind her through her road to recovery
