Bullet Damages Yorkville Elementary School Building: Police
A custodian was in the building when a gunshot was fired and a bullet hit a window and door.

YORKVILLE, IL — Yorkville police are investigating damage they say was caused by a bullet striking a double-pane window and a door at Grande Reserve Elementary School, 3132 Grande Trail. Police said the incident happened at around 11:13 p.m. Monday.
Police were dispatched to the school to investigate the damage. "Upon further investigation, it appeared the window/door was damaged by a bullet," according to a police report.
The damage to the window is estimated at $200 and damage to the door is estimated at $1,000. No other damage was found.

Grande Reserve Principal Robert Battey issued a statement to parents Tuesday morning saying the school's nighttime custodian reported damage to a window on a door on the southwest side of the building, WSPY said. The school was unoccupied except for the custodian when the incident happened, according to the outlet.
Police said the incident remains under investigation.
