Cause of Death Released in Montgomery Sonic Incident

The 26-year-old woman was pronounced dead the evening of May 29.

The cause of death for the woman who passed away in a Montgomery Sonic has been released.

According to the Kendall County Coroner’s Office, Ashley McFarland died from heroin intoxication.

The office also said it had three heroin intoxication deaths that same week throughout the county.

McFarland, 26, of the 600 block of S. River St. in Aurora, was found the evening of Friday, May 29 in the restroom of the Sonic.

According to a press release from the Montgomery Police Department, officers responded to a call of a woman not breathing in the restroom at about 7:17 p.m.

Officers found McFarland deceased in the restroom. The fire department personnel that arrived on the scene pronounced her dead at 7:29 p.m.
