CFFRV 2016 Scholarship Awards

Community Foundation Announces 2016 Scholarship Recipients, Nearly $1.04 Million Awarded

After months of preparation, careful reading of applications, and thorough reviews and discussions, the 2016 Scholarship Program of the Community Foundation of the Fox River Valley is now complete.

This year the Community Foundation received 714 applications, the most in a single year. Thanks to the generous efforts of our scholarship selection committee, and their sub-committees, the Foundation was able to award 346 students with scholarships.

More than $670,000 will be awarded to these students during the 2016-2017 academic year. Additionally, the Foundation is proud to announce that over the next four years, the total projected awards for these scholarships is nearly $1.04 million. This level of support is a record for the Foundation!

"The scholarship process went very well this year," said Robert J. O'Connor, Chairman of the Foundation's Scholarship Committee. "The members of the school review committees commented on the outstanding achievements and accomplishments of the scholarship recipients from all of the schools. We are thrilled that the end result was to set a new record for the four year scholarship awards of $1,040,000."

Thank you to all the students who applied. The Community Foundation and its scholarship donors are proud to support local students with their educational journeys. We wish each of them all the best this fall.

The Community Foundation currently administers nearly 200 scholarship funds. Without the generous contributions of its donors, and the individuals who established these funds, the scholarship program would not be possible. We sincerely thank those who are dedicated to the academic success of our local students, and who have financially supported the Community Foundation's scholarship program.
