Charges Filed in Separate Home Invasion and Burglary Cases
Three men and one woman have been charged.

The Kendall County State’s Attorney’s Office has filed charges on four people for two separate incidents that occurred on June 12, 2015, according to a release from the Kendall County Sheriff’s Office. Corey John Gorges, 20, from the 100 block of West Main Street in Yorkville, Thomas Joseph Gallagher, 21, from 2200 block of Highland Avenue in Aurora, Zachary Ryan Barthel, 26, from the 200 block of Woodford Road in Oswego, and Kathryn Patricia Fyfe, 25, from the 300 block of Spring Street in Aurora, were all charged with Home Invasion (class X felony), Residential Burglary and Aggravated Unlawful Use of Weapons.
The charges were the result of an investigation that was began June 12. At around 2:53 p.m., Kendall County Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to an address in the 0-100 Block of East Larkspur Lane, Bristol (Willowbrook Subdivision) for a report of shots fired. The complainant reported that unknown subjects armed with a gun had entered their residence. The complainant was able to exit their residence and call 911.
Deputies along with Officers from Oswego, Montgomery, and Yorkville police departments responded to the area and located all four subjects who were taken into custody without incident.

Witnesses reported that 2 men (Gallagher and Gorges) armed with handguns exited a vehicle that was parked on East Larkspur Lane and ran toward the residence. They allegedly entered the residence and an occupant fled from the house. It is alleged that the men stole items from the residence, before leaving. Fyfe and Barthel were located in a vehicle a few blocks away from the East Larkspur Lane residence.
During the initial investigation, police received information from the community about the suspects, their location, the items they were carrying and the vehicle they were in. In the morning hours of June 13, members of the Illinois Search and Rescue Council (SAR) assisted the sheriff’s office with an article search in the areas surrounding East Larkspur Lane. The search team located two firearms and clothing within the subdivision allegedly associated with the offenders.

While the incident on East Larkspur Lane was occurring, the sheriff’s office also took a report of a forced entry residential burglary that occurred in the morning hours of June 12th at a residence located in the 15000 block of Ashley Road in unincorporated Minooka. It was reported that the residence was entered and numerous items including two firearms and ammunition were stolen.
The firearms recovered by SAR were identified as the firearms stolen from the Ashley Road residence.
The Kendall County State’s Attorney’s Office filed additional charges on Corey John Gorges for Residential Burglary relating to the Ashley Road incident. Gorges is being held in the Kendall County Jail on $500,000 bond. Fyfe, Gallagher, and Barthel are being held in the Kendall County Jail on $350,000 bond.
It was the help of the community that allowed this case to come together as quickly as it did. As officers were walking though the subdivision, numerous citizens aided in the investigation and law enforcement is thankful for this collaborative effort.
