Christian Laettner Visits Yorkville Christian

Christian Laettner will visit Yorkville Christian High School April 17-19 for a variety of fundraising events

Christian Laettner had one of the most successful college basketball careers in NCAA history. Laettner is the only player to ever start in four consecutive NCAA Final Fours and also lead Duke to back to back titles in 1991 and 1992. He is the all-time NCAA Tournament career scoring leader and was the winner of the Wooden and Naismith Awards as National Player of the Year in 1992. He was drafted by the Minnesota Timberwolves with the third overall pick and was also a member of the 1992 U.S. Men’s Olympic Basketball team- the “Dream Team.” Christian went on to become an All-Star during his 13 year NBA career, scoring over 11,000 career points in the process.

Yorkville Christian High School and Virtues of the Game Basketball Training are proud to have Christian visit for an awesome weekend of basketball!

  • Christian will be conducting two skills clinics on Saturday, April 18 at Cross Lutheran School in Yorkville. From 1:00-2:30PM, boys and girls in grades 1st-5th will have the opportunity to learn the fundamentals of the game directly from Christian. Boys and girls in grades 6th-12th will have the same opportunity from 2:30-4:00PM. Each participant will receive a clinic t-shirt and a have a photo-op with Christian. Registration is $40/participant)
  • Later that evening, Christian will be the featured speaker at Yorkville Christian’s 2nd Annual “Impact of Sports” Dinner. Guests will eat dinner, have the chance to enter into raffles, and potentially bid on silent auction items as well. This event will be held at the Spirit Farms banquet room in Sheridan (3874 Illinois 71 Sheridan, IL 60551). Tickets are $50/individual or $75/couple. 
  • On Sunday, April 19, Christian will host two coaching clinics at Cross Lutheran. From 1:30-3:00PM, his presentation will be geared towards youth coaches. From 3:00-4:30, the presentation will be for high school coaches. Clinic registration is $40/coach.
