Circle Center School Briefly Placed on Lockdown

The Circle Center School in Yorkville was placed on lockdown early Friday afternoon due a police foot pursuit that occurred nearby.

According to a release from the Yorkville Police Dept., there was no threat to the school and the lockdown was down as a precautionary measure.

The lockdown occurred at 1:27 p.m. and was lifted 10 minutes later when the fleeing man was arrested.

According to police, the man was wanted on a warrant and fled when he saw the police.
