Citizens Invited to Learn about PADS. Information plus Q&A at Yorkville Public Library , Tuesday, Nov 15, 6:30-7:30 pm
PADS, homeless shelter program, Kendall County; volunteer opportunities; help for the homeless; information; questions and answers

Citizens are invited to find out about PADS: what it is and how caring volunteers help the homeless.
PADS (Public Action to Deliver Shelter) will host two informational sessions for the public to learn more about PADS. These informal presentations will be held on Tuesday, November 15, at Plano Public Library and Thursday, November 17, at Yorkville Public Library, both at 6:30 - 7:30 p.m.
A panel of experienced volunteers will present a brief overview of PADS and then welcome audience questions. Attendees will hear about PADS - what it is , where and when the shelter sites are open, what it does for the homeless men, women and children who come for aid.

The audience will see how PADS goes beyond its basic mission of giving temporary, overnight shelter and food; the organization provides links to many other social services for its guests. To make this all possible, volunteers are still needed to serve just 4 1/2 hours each month for the 6 month long program.
Anyone who simply wants to learn more about how PADS cares for the homeless is welcome to attend. No pre-registration is required; no commitments are expected. If community members cannot attend either of these two sessions, they can learn more about PADS on the website: www.kendallcountypads.org or they may call Anne Engelhardt, Director, at 630-553-5073.
