Cocaine Possession Gets Man 10 Years in Prison

A search warrant was issued for the man's home after a month-long investigation.

A Montgomery man was sentenced to 10 years in prison for cocaine possession with intent to deliver, according to a release from the Kendall County State’s Attorney’s Office.

Clifford W. Clark, 46, of 32 Circle Drive West, was arrested and charged with the class X felony after members of the Kendall County Cooperative Police Assistance Team conducted a search warrant on his home in January 2015.

During the search, a large amount of cocaine was found, along with other items often used in the sale of narcotics. Clark has remained in custody since his January arrest.

The arrest came after a month-long investigation. Clark was found with more than 100 grams of cocaine in his possession.

According to State’s Attorney Eric Weis, Clark will have to serve at least 75 percent of his sentence due to truth in sentencing laws. Other crimes allow for good behavior credit at 50 percent.

Clark will be required to serve three years of parole after his 10-year sentence.
