
Yorkville Green beat Oswego Purple 8-6 in the Boys Majors Championship playoff game, which included an amazing home run by Mitch Heriaud, his third of the season. The lead-off hitter Tyler Decker had a hot bat going 3 for 4, and Mason Rosenow added a last inning double and RBI. Cole Podlasek hit an awesome triple and performed excellent base running (Cole also had 2 home runs this season.) Prestyn Theis came up with a clutch double in the sixth to score the tying and go ahead runs. Ryan Gajewski and Mason Rosenow both had huge defensive plays in the outfield, saving multiple base hits. Chase Hammerel rounded out a solid defensive effort in the outfield and started our 3rd inning rally. Erick Hernandez had two unassisted outs at first and another error-free game. Josh Meinert started a last inning rally and scored. All 10 players contributed with each player reaching bases safely. Pitching for Yorkville was led by Jake Rench, Prestyn Theis and Mitch Heriaud.
