Crash Involving Overturned Semi Slows Traffic On Route 47: Yorkville PD

YORKVILLE, IL — A crash that left a semi-truck overturned in a ditch has reduced traffic on Route 47 down to one lane, Yorkville police said just after 8:30 a.m.

Police said the road is down to one lane between Route 30 and Galena Road as officials wait for a "heavy-duty tow."

Police said they believe the semi and another vehicle were both northbound on Route 47 when the semi veered off to the east, struck the vehicle in front of it, and overturned into the ditch.

The driver was taken to an area hospital with unknown injuries by the Bristol Kendall Fire Department.

Yorkville police said they will post an update to social media when the roadway is clear.
