District 115 Shuffles Administrators

Yorkville board announces new roles for some of its top staff.

leaders announced new positions for some existing administrators at its school board meeting Monday, according to a news release.

The following was included in the news release:

“We have very carefully analyzed the administrative needs at each of our schools and are pleased to announce a realignment of talent and skills to the positions and areas that need the optimum leadership,” Superintendent Scott Wakeley said. “We are further pleased that we are able to fill these needs without adding any new hires, and that these individuals are in positions that will best utilize their strengths and key skill-sets."

Administrators changing roles and their new positions are: 

  • Jim Still, from dean at Yorkville High School, to assistant principal at Yorkville High School Academy
  • Joel Wyeth, from associate principal at the Yorkville High School Academy, to associate principal at Yorkville High School, overseeing scheduling and security, among other responsibilities
  • Steve Megazzini from assistant principal at Yorkville Intermediate School to assistant principal at Yorkville Middle School, replacing Bryan Zwemke who resigned to become principal of Kaneland Middle School
  • Lisa Adler, from dean at Yorkville Middle School, to assistant principal at Yorkville Intermediate School.

“It is important to also note that former Yorkville Middle School Assistant Principal Leonard Larson retired in January, and the district did not replace that position,” Wakeley said. “We are using that [position] in another school and, in doing so, we are utilizing our human resources in the best way possible.”

Board of Education President Dave Dockstader echoed Wakeley's view:

“This realignment analysis and implementation provides the best leadership for our schools, while, at the same time, does not add more people to the payroll; it is a win-win for the district and the taxpayers.”
