Domestic Battery, Theft: Yorkville Police Blotter
Here are some non-accident incidents Yorkville police have been dealing with.

An 19-year-old and six juvenile teens were caught drinking at a bonfire in the 100 block of Colonial Parkway on the night of Friday, March 9. Police responded to a report of "an out of control bonfire" around 10 p.m., finding Gilberto Gonzales III, 19, one male juvenile and five female juveniles at the fire with alcohol. All seven were charged with unlawful consumption of alcoholic liquor, and the male teen was also charged with unlawful possession of an alcoholic beverage by a minor. Gonzales was arrested while the juveniles were taken to their parents or guardians.
A Yorkville man was arrested Saturday morning on the charges of domestic battery and interfering with reporting domestic battery. Police responded to the home of James Matthews, of the 100 block of J. Bertram drive, around 7 a.m., where his girlfriend alleges he hit her in the face, leaving scratches on her cheek. When she called the police, Matthews took her cellphone away from her, the police report said.
Police responded to a possible assault in the 2300 block of Autumn Creek Boulevard Friday evening. Two Yorkville men, one 39 and the other 34, were involved. Police say that both parties involved had conflicting statements and stories. No arrests were made.

Police responded to the 300 block of Bertram Drive Sunday morning around 10:30 a.m. after being notified that a boy had "broken an item at the house." An adult house member then grabbed the boy around his throat, the police report said, with the boy's mother as a witness. She drove him to another house. Police are investigating.
An employee of a business in the 1600 block of North Bridge Street was accused of stealing from the business on Thursday, March 8. According to the police report, surveillance footage shows that at 2:29 p.m. that day, an employee undercharged a customer and pocketed the resulting change. The victim of the theft declined to press charges or have a citation issued.
