Driver Hits Tree, Flees Scene: Yorkville Police Reports

Plus, a stolen laptop and a hit and run crash.

Feb. 14: The driver of a 2007 Ford Taurus was heading south on Hampton Lane at Prairie Crossing Drive when the vehicle crossed Prairie Crossing and struck a tree. The driver, later located and identified as Nathaly Martinez, 19, of Aurora, fled the scene on foot, according to police. She was cited for leaving the scene of an accident, improper lane use, failure to report an accident to police and driving an uninsured vehicle, police said.

Feb. 13: June R. Virus, 91, of the 300 block of Holiday Drive, Somonauk, was driving a 2008 Mercury Sable on Route 34 and Route 47 when she collided with another vehicle and drove off, police said.

Feb. 13: Someone defaced the front door of a home in the 100 block of Hydraulic Avenue with a marker.

Feb. 7: Someone activated a Verizon cellular account and a Menard's line of credit using another person's identity, police said. The victim denied opening either account.

Feb. 6: Yorkville police took a report Feb. 14 for a retail theft in which unknown suspects stole a laptop valued at $229.99. The thieves took the stolen laptop pass the final point of sale with no attempt to pay for it.
