Driver leaves Scene Of Route 47 Accident: Yorkville Police

Aggravated DUI

The Kendall County Sheriff's Office said 49-year-old Michael N. Matthews, of the 500 block of Bell Street, Yorkville, was charged with an adult felony at 11:25 a.m., Sept. 12. The sheriff's office said Matthews was charged with aggravated DUI.

Tuesday, Sept. 11

Fleeing the scene of an accident

Yorkville police said the driver of a Jeep Cherokee (year unknown) drove away from the scene after running a red light at Route 47 and Van Emmon Street at 3 p.m., Sept. 11, hitting a 2010 Dodge Avenger. Police said the driver of the Dodge Avenger, 33-year-old Ashley Morris, of the 700 block of North Bridge Street, Yorkville, was turning left from Van Emmon onto southbound Route 47 and was hit in the intersection. No injuries were reported and the car Morris was driving wasn't towed.

KCSO deputies responded to the 10,000 block of IL Route 71 in Yorkville at 1:30 p.m., Sept. 10, for a report of theft. The sheriff's office reported the theft was said to have taken place at 3:06 p.m., Aug. 25. The incident is under investigation.

Driving on suspended license

Yorkville police said Alycin J. Crockrell, 36, of the 2000 block of Flournoy Street, Chicago, was stopped by officers while driving in the Colonial Parkway area on Route 47 at 8:58 p.m., Sept. 10. Police said she was cited for driving while license was suspended, operating an uninsured vehicle and speeding. Charges are listed for driving while license was suspended.

Accident with injuries

Yorkville police said 20-year-old Karmen Melton, of the 1200 block of Marketplace Drive, Yorkville, was taken to Rush Copley Medical Center for injuries after the 2012 Dodge Avenger they were driving rear-ended the 2016 Chevy Cruze being driven by 62-year-old Alfonso Mil-Escribano, of the 200 block of River Street, Yorkville. Police said the accident took place at 11:45 a.m., Sept. 10 at Route 34 and Bristol Ridge Road. Mil-Escribano was taken into custody for driving without a valid license and operating an uninsured vehicle, police said, adding Melton received a state citation for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident. Both vehicles were towed from the scene with heavy damage, police said.
