A 24-year-old driver was hurt in the crash, and a 49-year-old Yorkville man was arrested.

YORKVILLE, IL — Yorkville police say a driver was drunk when he struck another vehicle head on, hit two other vehicles and tried to leave the scene Friday night. Michael N. Matthews, 49, of the 500 block of Bell Street in Yorkville was driving east down the center of Route 34 at around 9 p.m. when his vehicle struck a car driven by a 24-year-old Somonauk man head on, causing injuries, police said.

Matthews then continued driving east, sideswiping two more cars and causing minor damage before coming to a stop west of Sycamore Road, according to police.

The Kendall County Scanner Facebook page said police radio reports indicate a caller told authorities one vehicle was trying to leave the scene of the crash.
