We hold a time trial at the beginning of the cross country season for a few reasons. The first reason is to gauge the fitness levels of our runners to see which group they should be running with. Another reason has to do with our team uniforms. We feel that each runner's uniform should mean something to them, which is why runners on the YMS cross country team must earn their uniform by running two miles in a race without walking. This is a big accomplishment, and we hold two time trials over the first few weeks so everyone has a chance to earn their uniform before the first meet.
It was only our second day of practice, and it was a great surprise to see so many of our runners able to run the entire time. Below is a list of runners who earned their uniform during our time trial on Tuesday, and their time for the two miles. You can see all of the results on our Results/Records Page.
