Elderly Yorkville Man Scammed into Buying $500 iTunes Gift Card
A person claiming to be his grandson said he needed the card to get out of jail.

YORKVILLE, IL — An 81-year-old Yorkville man was scammed into buying a $500 iTunes gift card to get his “grandson” out of jail.
Yorkville police say at around 10 a.m. Tuesday, the man was contacted by a person pretending to be his grandson, who said he needed bond money.
“The unknown male told the victim he a $500 iTunes gift card as bond,” police said. The grandfather purchased the card and was then contacting by another man claiming to be an officer who then took the card number and activation number.
