On Sunday, September 18, 2011, a coach bus will be leaving Yorkville from the parking lot of the Yorkville Freshman Academy, 702 Game Farm Road, at noon and will travel to Lincolnshire, IL. First stop – Wildfire Restaurant for lunch, then on to the Marriott Lincolnshire Theater for a performance of “For the Boys.” This is a new musical based on the Oscar nominated movie, starring Bette Midler and James Caan.
In 1942, the world was at war and Eddie Sparks was on top. Nobody could out-sing, out- step, or out-charm Eddie, America’s premier entertainer, until Dixie Leonard came along. Together they entertained American troops in times of war and peace for over 30 years, three wars, and hundreds of shows, and they did it all “for the boys.”
