Chapel on the Green - Civil War Sing-a-Long

As part of Yorkville's 4th celebration the Chapel on the Green NFP invites you to join in on a Civil War Sing-a-Long, in commemoration of the start of the Civil War 150 years ago.

Many songs were written by the North and South that we still hear today.  You’ll hear and sing  marching songs, sad songs, Abolitionist songs, and spirituals.  In addition, you’ll learn a brief history about some of the songs.

Doors open at 11:30 a.m. and the hour long program will begin at noon.   Prior to the program you can listen to melodies played on the 112 year old pipe organ and the 95 year old upright piano.
