The Yorkville Recreation Department will is now accepting in-person registration for its fifth-to-eighth grade girls' basketball leagues.
The leagues are meant to teach and improve basketball fundamentals like dribbling, shooting, passing, defense and offense.
The league will consist of teams in the Sandwich Basketball League. Teams will have a six-game schedule and a Round Robin to compete in.

The eighth grade team will participate in January's Cross Lutheran Tournament.
Twice-weekly practices will be held, with times dependent on the coaches.

Registration will only be accepted in person from 4 to 7 p.m. Sept. 7 and Sept. 14; and 9 a.m. to Noon Sept. 11 and Sept. 17.
A $10 late fee will be added for any registrations after Sept. 17. The final registration day will be Sept. 21.
